SEWING MACHINE MANUALS and Related items - PRINTED and DOWNLOADS > Machines name begins with H

Shipping is free when you purchase printed manuals, needles, etc. and they are sent to a U.S.A. address. Our printed items are enlarged to print on the full printable area of the page. They are much easier to read for those of us who have mature eye sight and the illustrations are clearer too. They are coil bound, have protective plastic covers and they lay flat so they are easier for you to refer to.

A PDF / DOWNLOAD is an electronic file that is sent from our server to your computer. Nothing will be mailed to you when you order the downloadable version of the manual, even though there is shipping information in the order form which you must fill in and you will automatically receive a shipped notice VIA email. Don't pay any attention to them. They are simply built in responses from the ordering system because we sell many items that do get shipped. If you are ordering a download and a physical item, you will need to make separate orders for the items, if you are paying with a credit card. When you have paid for your download, stay right where you are when your payment is completed and, then click on the links that come up to return to Relics and receive your download.

Downloads and printed manuals are separate items in our site. So, please read the item’s description very carefully to make sure that you are ordering the correct version of it and the right item. NOTE: International customers can NOT pay for their purchase with a check or a money order. However, they can use a credit card or pay for their purchase at PayPal. If you don't see what you are looking for, in the site, or the downloadable version of the item you want hasn't been entered in the site yet, email me and request it. If you have questions or need assistance, email me, don't call. Thank you, Linda at Relics

PRINTED Generic Singer 15 Happy HA-1 sewing machine manual (smm586b)

PRINTED USER INSTRUCTION

Authorized reproduction of a sewing machine users / instruction manual for the machines based on the Singer model 15. The Singer model 15 is one of the best designed sewing machines ever and simply put, when the patent ran out, everyone copied it. So, is this what your straight stitch only sewing machine looks like? You see, Happy and other straight stitch only sewing machines marked Made in Japan flooded into the US in the 1940s through the 1960s and when their heads arrived into the USA, most of them had American sounding names attached to them. Thousands of those names were used so I can not begin to list them.

PRINTED Happy HA-1 Generic Singer 15 sewing machine manual (smm574a)

PRINTED USER INSTRUCTION

Authorized reproduction of the sewing machine users / instruction manual for machines based on the Singer model 15. The Singer model 15 is one of the best designed sewing machines ever and simply put, when the patent ran out, everyone copied it. So, is this what your straight stitch only sewing machine looks like? If your machine has Happy molded into the bottom of the bed, then this is the manual that you need. You see, Happy and other straight stitch only sewing machines marked Made in Japan flooded into the US in the 1940s through the 1960s and when their heads arrived into the USA, most of them had American sounding names attached to them. Thousands of those names were used so I can not begin to list them. The Singer 15-88, 15-90, 15-91 and 15-125 will not be well served by this book. These machines are very common, but everything is backwards from the other 15s. Check the position of the bobbin case finger to see if it matches or is different from the illustration of it in this manual. If it is different, the needle goes in the other way, they thread the other way, the point is on the opposite end of the shuttle, the bobbin is reversed, etc.

PRINTED Entire Hasluck book dated 1905 (smm1002)

PRINTED REPAIR ADJUST

Authorized reproduction of the entire 1905 book by Paul Hasluck titled Sewing Machines their Construction, Adjustment and Repair. It covers sewing machines that you would have expected to find in that era and earlier ones like ones with curved needles, chain stitchers, vibrating and boat shuttles, oscillating shuttles and even some industrial machines. Some examples of the machines in the book are the Singer models 12, 24, 27, Singer Improved Family, Wheeler and Wilson 4, Howe and Bradbury. It covers attachments to the machines like hand cranks, bobbin winder and some of the many presser feet too. There are quite a few nice illustrations in it.

This is a review of this item from Kevin, one of our favorite customers; This book was put together from a weekly column written by the author. It does flow well however. The beginning of the book describes how sewing machines function in general, and provides details on several types of machines in particular. There is an interesting section about the oscillating rotary shuttle and how it works. There is a good deal written on working and adjusting all types of sewing machines. There is a very detailed section on dealing with adjustments for broken needles, broken threads and missed stitches. Much is written on repairing these old machines including fixing and repairing them yourself where parts are hard to come by. This covers adding life to worn shuttles, feed dogs and much more. There is a detailed chapter on many attachments and auxiliary devices including hand cranks, bobbin winder assemblies, ruffler, pleating device and tuck marker. There is also a section on tailor's high speed machines which covers repairs and adjustments. Some of the machines which are given focused attention for repairing and adjusting include the W&W #4 machine, W&W D10 machine, Singer transverse (reciprocating) shuttle machine, vibrating shuttle machines, Winselmann's vibrating shuttle, leather sewing machines, twin needle machines, buttonholer machines, curved needle revolving hook machines, Howe machines (old and newer), Weir machine, Singer oscillating machines, and Bradbury machines. Additionally, much of the data is discussed in such as way as to cover many other variants of these types of machines. The book includes a table of contents and an index.
